Planting Tips:
Sow Tom Thumb pea seeds directly outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring. Peas prefer cool weather and fertile, well-drained soil. Plant seeds about 2 inches apart and keep the soil evenly moist during germination and pod development. The dwarf plants generally need little to no support, although a small support can help keep heavily loaded plants upright. Harvest pods when they are filled out and the peas inside are plump and tender. For an additional cool-season crop, sow again in late summer where growing conditions allow.
