Cucumis sativus. Lemon Cucumber is a unique heirloom cucumber that produces round, lemon-yellow fruits with crisp, mild, refreshing flavor. Despite its name, the fruit does not taste like a lemon—the name comes from its distinctive round shape and bright yellow color. The tender fruits are excellent for fresh eating, salads, snacking, and pickling. Vigorous vines are productive throughout the growing season and can be grown in traditional gardens, raised beds, or containers with support.

Planting Tips:
Sow Lemon Cucumber seeds directly into well-drained soil after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Seeds may also be started indoors about 3–4 weeks before the last expected frost and carefully transplanted outdoors after temperatures warm. Keep the soil consistently moist during germination and establishment. Vines can be allowed to spread along the ground or grown vertically on a trellis to save space. Harvest the round fruits when approximately 2–3 inches across and light yellow to golden yellow for the best flavor and texture. Pick regularly to encourage continued production.
