Coriandrum sativum. Leisure Cilantro is a slow-bolting cilantro variety grown for its flavorful, aromatic green leaves and classic fresh cilantro flavor. Slower to bolt than many standard cilantro varieties, Leisure Cilantro can provide a longer harvest of fresh leaves during cool growing weather.

Fresh cilantro leaves are excellent for salsa, tacos, guacamole, soups, curries, and Mexican, Asian, and other international dishes. If allowed to flower and produce seed, the mature seeds can be harvested as coriander.

🌱 Growing Information

How to Grow Leisure Cilantro from Seed

Planting Depth: ¼ inch
Seed Spacing: 4–6 inches
Row Spacing: 12–18 inches
Germination Time: 7–14 days
Days to Harvest: 40–60 days
Sun Requirements: Full Sun to Partial Shade

Planting Tips:
Leisure Cilantro grows best during the cooler temperatures of spring and fall. Direct sow cilantro seeds outdoors in well-drained soil in early spring or fall. Cilantro naturally begins to bolt as temperatures rise, although Leisure is selected for slower bolting and an extended leaf harvest.

Keep the soil evenly moist during germination and early growth. Harvest the outer leaves and stems regularly as needed for fresh use.

For a continuous supply of fresh cilantro, sow a small amount of seed every 2–3 weeks during suitable cool growing weather.

Allow some plants to flower and mature if you would like to harvest coriander seeds. The flowers can also attract beneficial pollinators to the garden.

🌱 Great for herb gardens, raised beds, containers, patios, and small-space gardens.
