Planting Tips:
Sow Danvers carrot seeds directly outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Plant in loose, well-drained soil free of rocks and large clumps to encourage straight, well-shaped roots. Keep the seedbed consistently moist during germination, as carrot seeds can be slow to sprout. Thin seedlings to approximately 2β3 inches apart once established. For a fall and winter-storage crop, sow again in summer, allowing enough time for roots to mature before the ground freezes. Harvest mature carrots after cool fall weather for storage, remove the leafy tops, and store the roots in cool, humid conditions.
