Planting Tips:
Illiniwek watermelons grow best when planted in warm soil after the danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds directly in fertile, well-drained soil and provide plenty of space for the vines to spread. Water consistently during the growing season, especially while fruits are developing. Harvest when the rind color dulls, the tendril nearest the fruit dries, and the underside develops a creamy yellow spot.
